A BREATHTAKING LOCATION
Wedding location was kept secret to be a surprise up to the very last minute for most of the guests.
Only when they all got on the boat from the jetty at Gardone Riviera, they realise that their destination was going to be unique and special one.
As the matter of fact they were on their way to Garda Island, a private island in the centre of Lake Garda. On the island there is an ancient neo-gothic Venetian palace. It is set in magnificent gardens and it arises just from the banks. The villa has been owned by Cavazza family for generations and still is. The family live in this unique setting overlooking Lake Garda taking care of all a villa like this could require with care an passion.
Katherine and Alexander’s symbolic ceremony took place on the ramparts high above the waters of the lake.
Everything from floral decorations to fans at the ceremony echoed the specific style chosen by bride and groom.
A FLORAL FRAME FOR AN ELEGANT CANDLELIT DINNER
After the ceremony, a refreshing aperitif awaited the guests, in the shade of a huge Bouganville tree that climbs on the terrace of the villa. The view of the lake from the big terrace was framed by the classic Italian garden with its bushes, exquisite flowerbeds and luxuriant plants: a perfect atmosphere for the longest day of the year!!
Before dinner, Katherine went to the upper lodge and tossed her bouquet down to her all single ladies who were waiting with trepidation below on the garden.
Right after such a great moment, everyone made their way up to the splendid lodge decorated with its fine frescoed ceiling and arches overlooking the lake.
Candlelit wedding reception was something truly out of fairy-tale! Delicate lavender and lemon scents from the floral centrepieces, the backdrop for the lake that lit up slowly through the reflection of the lights from the shore was simply amazing, a remarkable, unique scene!
Little bottles of Limoncello produced with local lemons were the perfect favor for guests!
Aviaries and wicker baskets completed the country chic atmosphere of dinner at the lodge.
LANTERNS AND FLOATING CANDLES, THE MAGIC OF THE NIGHT
At the end of dinner candles guided Katherine and Alexander’s guests to the most luxurious and sumptuous part of the gardens.
Here the walls of an old boathouse were completely covered with white wooden lanterns. A magical entrance towards a tiny bridge in the park where the wedding a lemon and lavender themed wedding cake awaited Katherine, Alexander and their guests.
The evening continued with music and dancing under the gazebo, where the DJ had everyone bopping until the early hours.
Before saying goodbye to this special island, newlyweds and their guests released flower shaped floating lanterns. A superb close to a magical day!
