Adrienne and John’s wedding on Lake Como
We open the month with Adrienne and John’s wedding on Lake Como.
Our Lake Como staff followed the event: a lovely English couple with a big happy family. They choose a civil ceremony at Villa del Balbianello with reception to follow in a pretty hotel in Varenna.
Reception for 60 guests was planned in a wonderful function room with frescoes on the ceiling.
After the dinner dances for all with a live band up to late at night.
Adrienne loves flowers and she wanted rich compositions of Lysianthus and Baby’s Breath.
She wanted a pink and white theme that really matched the style of the reception room.

Josanne and Mark’s intimate wedding in Rome
On August 7th Stefania – with the help of Valentina directly from Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore – followed Josanne and Mark’s intimate wedding in Rome.
Josanne and Mark came from US to elope in Rome as Josanne always dreamt.
She really wanted to get married in a venue overlooking the dome of St. Peter’s abbey.
Stefania suggested a wonderful hotel overlooking it!
An intimate ceremony and little toast to follow and then a wonderful tour in Rome!
Josanne and Marked walked in the streets of the eternal city for amazing photos: Romans Forum, Campidoglio Steps and… St.Peters Abbey… Josanne was over the moon.
An intimate dinner for them to celebrate a unique day in Rome.

Katrien and Johan’s wedding at Villa del Balbianello
On August 8th we get back to Northern Lakes.
We are again on Lake Como for Katrien and Johan’s wedding.
The both came for Belgium to celebrate their special day.
They are in love with Italy and they chose Villa del Balbianello for their symbolic blessing with a nice aperitif to follow.
After the ceremony bride and groom and their intimate group of 30 guests got on a motorboat to reach reception venue with a great view!
Katrien and Johan choose for their reception a wonderful hotel in Carate Urio with a great view over Lake Como.
A festive atmosphere for sure thanks to the presence of many children who danced and sang with adults a lot of Italian traditional songs! So fun!

Caroline and Daniel’s intimate wedding on Lake Orta
OUR TEAM
Caroline and Daniel chose Lake Orta for their intimate wedding.
A civil ceremony at Villa Bossi with aperitif to follow in the gardens of San Rocco Hotel and then a boat trip to reach the Island for amazing wedding photos!
Reception was planned at Ustaria Ca dal Rat Restaurant with exclusive use for the small group of 30 guests.
A very fine dinner with delicious food and wines and with a great wedding tiered sponge wedding cake with fruits! A special moment for all. Dj made everybody dance up to midnight when boats arrived to take all guests back to Orta village. A sweet night for all!

Brendan and Nyree’s wedding in Torri del Benaco, Lake Garda
Another wedding on August 8th on Lake Garda that Angela and Katiuscia followed for us.
Brendan and Nyree came from Ireland to tie the knot in Torri del Benaco, just on top of castle tower!
A very intimate wedding for bride and groom and groom’s son.
Nyree wanted a cute white roses bouquet with some light blue details, just like romantic waters of Lake Garda

Eleonora and Paolo’s wedding on Lake Orta
La Piccola Selva Floral Designer Team followed a lovely wedding on Lake Orta on August 11th: Eleonora and Paolo’s wedding.
A Nature inspired wedding decorated with sheaves of wheat and many daisy and sunflowers.
Bridal dress and her flowered crown was really 60s Flower Power style!
Eleonora arrived on a wonderful vintage Fiat 500 back from the 60s. It perfectly matched the style.

In the second picture you can also see Eleonora and Paolo’s dog: Gnappo.
They love it so much that they wanted for it a Wedding Dog Sitter. It is the first professional dog sitting service in Italy for weddings and events. The aim is giving the dog the opportunity to be really part of the event and be happy on the happiest day of its owners! Photo by Wedding Dog Sitter
Ashely and Ryan’s wedding in Umbria
On 14th of August the day before of famous Italian summer holiday of Ferragosto Ashely and Ryan got married in Umbria.
Elia followed the event for us. Ferragosto is a wonderful National holiday in Italy. It is rooted in Ancient Roman culture.
It is the climax of the summer, almost all business are closed and almost all Italian people have fun at the beach, to the mountains, in the countryside. There are big festivals with night feasts and fireworks! It is really a festive moment!
Ashely and Ryan wanted to enjoy it in Italy!
They got married in a private little wood of a Villa in the village of Panicale, Umbria.
The same villa hosted also the aperitif, dinner and party to follow.
View is amazing over Umbria countywide and Lake Trasimeno!
Ashely and Ryan opted for a symbolic blessing in an ancient wood of 18 Century. It was decorated with tends, laces and little hearts.
Aperitif to follow was planned in the Italian Garden as the intimate dinner.
In a corner the seating plan and other shabby chic details with lanterns, and vintage clothes, peonies, coral flowers and succulents.
A personal friend of the couple played during the ceremony and reception. A wonderful country day in Umbria.

Kathleen and Thomas’ wedding on Lake Como
The day after Ferragosto, August 16th, Kathleen and Thomas got married on Lake Como.
Lake Como staff followed the event for us.
A romantic elope for a wonderful Canadian couple.
They choose a luxury hotel in Bellagio for their symbolic ceremony and celebratory meal to follow.
A lovely day for the two of them with a boat tour on Lake Como to complete a wonderful sunny day of happiness.

Katy and James’ wedding on Lake Como
We stay on Lake Como for Katy and James’ wedding on August 18th.
Lake Como staff was there for us.
A wonderful happy English couple.
Another emotional civil ceremony at Villa del Balbianello with a reception in a Beach Club in Lenno.
When bride and groom arrived at the Beach Club there were lovely lanterns waiting for them saying” Just Married” so cute!
For the reception Katy choose white flowers and golden details such as ribbons for chairs, sugared almonds and favours for guests.
There was a Polaroid for the guests. Everybody could take photos and hang them on a wire with little pegs. All photos were part of bride and groom’s guest book.

Pamela and Damiano’s wedding in Apulia
We move Southern Italy for Pamela and Damiano’s wedding in Apulia.
Michela and Michela followed the event for us.
Pamela and Damiano live in Milan and they chose Paulia for their wedding just because Apulia is amazing! Pamela’s family comes from this part of the country and the decision was very easy to take!
Pamela and Damiano chose a Catholic ceremony in wonderful Church of Stella Marina in Castellaneta Marina, close to Taranto. They had 11 witnesses, all their closest friends!
Pamela wanted a Boho chic theme for her wedding in Apulia. A Bohemienne style with vintage, hippy and eco friendly details.
Reception was planned in a venue on the shores: so called Lido (In Italian)
Empty tomatoes jars with lavender inside, table cards with Northern Italian and Southern Italian proverbs to symbolise the good match between North and South.
A real informal party with dances, group videos, beach towels as wedding favours and Photo Booth.
Wedding cake was cut on the beach bare foot! To close the evening amazing fireworks!

V&N’s wedding on Isola del Garda
On 23th of August we get back to Lake Garda for V&N’s wedding.
Angela and Katiuscia followed the event for us.
Bride is Austrian and Groom is English. They opted for a lovely symbolic blessing in amazing Loggia on Isola del Garda. A stunning frescoed room for a moving ceremony!
Aperitif was served on Italian style gardens just by the shores.
For their reception they chose a wine property on Lake Garda hills.
Country chic details did the rest: olive branches, and wine barrels were placed in the reception room and floral decoration were all made with olive branches, rosemary, dahlias, roses in warm shades of light pink and light green.
A wonderful bucolic event!

Barbara and Hansi’s wedding on Lake Maggiore
On the same day another couple chose olive branches for their wedding! Barbara and Hansi got married on Lake Maggiore. Both our planners Valentina and Stefania followed the event for us. They often work together as you can see!
Barbara and Hansi chose a Catholic wedding in one of the chapels at Sacro Monte di Ghiffa. An amazing view over Lake Maggiore!
A delicate Italian style aperitif was served in the lawn just outside the church and after that everybody got on boats to reach Stresa where the reception was planned.
An amazing villa with garden and lovely view on the Lake was the perfect setting for Barbara and Hansi’s reception.
After a lovely aperitif outdoor the whole group moved inside the charming rooms of the villa for a delicious dinner!
Decorations were all really detailed: Barbara is a designer!
Country chic details with linen cotton ribbons and grey stationary elegantly written.
Olive branches, white, pale green and light blue country flowers, fairy lights and hundreds of balloons!
Such a great idea!! Instead of more dangerous sky lanterns, Barbara’s sister planned a lot of pink, green and white balloons to be released before the wedding cake cut!
It was a great idea for sure!
Wedding cake was served on the terrace of the villa and party up to late at night could start!

Sarah and David’s wedding in Piemonte Countryside
We stay in the countryside for Sarah and David’s wedding on 27th August.
They chose Piemonte Countryside for their intimate wedding!
Valentina with the great help of Stefania followed the event for us.
Sarah and David are familiar with Piemonte countryside and they chose La Morra village for their romantic day with just close friends and family including their children!
La Morra village has a stunning view over Langhe hills – Unesco World Heritage in 2014.
Celebratory meal was planned in another stunning village on the vine hills called Neive.
Here the group of 14 guests had a delicious dinner in a Michelin star restaurant over the hills!
Delicious food and amazing wine for a great day!

Samanta and Christian’s wedding on Isola del Garda
On August 29th we got back to Isola del Garda where Angela and Katiuscia followed Samanta and Christian’s wedding.
Samanta is Brazilian and Christian is German and they did not have the occasion to celebrate their special day with both families coming from both countries.
For this reason they opted for a symbolic blessing with reception and party to follow on Isola del Garda.
Samanta wanted deep fuchsia for all arrangements with roses, orchids and hydrangeas.
A 5 elements band and most of all Brazilian dancers with forches and gliding lights made the night unforgettable!

Patrizia and Nicolas’ wedding on Lake Maggiore
On August 30th La Piccola Selva Floral Designer Team followed Patrizia and Nicolas’ wedding on Lake Maggiore .
A wonderful Swiss couple who chose San Leonardo church for their Catholic wedding in Pallanza.
After the ceremony bride, groom and all their guests got on a boat to reach Isola Pescatori for a romantic toast.
Reception was planned at Hotel Splendid in Baveno. A delicious cocktail and aperitif welcomed the group in the garden of the hotel just by the shores. Reception to follow was planned inside the amazing room of the hotel with magic view on Lake Maggiore and its Islands.
La Piccola Selva Floral Designer Team created wonderful centrepieces with white and green orchids. Table plan was made of many bird cages with flowers and all guests’ names. A very original and cute idea!

Gera and Sean’s wedding in Rome
We close the month with two weddings.
The first one in Rome, followed by Stefania .
Gera and Sean got married in Santi Apostoli Abbey in Rome. A wonderful emotional Catholic wedding in the very heart of eternal city.
Church is simply amazing as only a church in Rome could be! It has been founded by Bizantines in 6th century and enriched along the centuries.
After some pictures in Rome, bride, groom and their guests reached a wonderful castle right in Rome. A castle in Rome? Yes Rome has this and much more to offer!
Gera opted for white golden and crystal details that made the reception one of the most elegant wedding planned at the castle.
Aperitif and delicious dinner to follow and fun dances for all. Everybody fell in love with Rome!

Ambra and Valerio’s wedding on Lake Maggiore
The second wedding on August 31st was followed by Valentina on Lake Maggiore.
We are talking about a wonderful sweet couple: Ambra and Valerio , both coming from a small town close to Pavia.
They chose Lake Maggiore for their day and they simply loved every single moment of it.
Ambra and Valerio chose a Catholic ceremony in one of the chapels of Sacro Monte of Ghiffa overlooking the stunning view of the lake.
As per Italian tradition they opted for a lunch. After a boat trip on Isola Bella for amazing wedding photos they reached their guests at Grand Hotel Dino.
Theme of the wedding were… the opposite just like Ambra and Valerio are.
A little sun and moon logo on all stationary and wonderful sunflowers and blue flowers as special decorations.
Wedding menu was great and it was accompanied by a huge heart shaped wedding cake made of fruits and a stunning sweet buffet with lots of mini desserts and black and white chocolate fountains! Simply wow!
During the reception a lovely caricaturist took a portrait of every guest that was given as gift at the end of the party together with some sugared almonds and delicious sweets by Chocolaterie des Iles.
