One of the most popular sets of colours for weddings this year is pink and brown. Pink and Brown are absolutely fabulous together. The great thing about pink is that depending on what shade you use, you can create totally different environments for your wedding.
For instance, a bright fuchisa pink with chocolate is very hip and modern. However a chocolate paired with with a pale pink evokes glamour, elegance. You can do combinations of the shades of pink to create different feelings - use light pink for your ceremony and step things up a bit for your reception with a bright pink.
Just use combinations of those two colors everywhere.
You can do some great decorating at your ceremony location.
If you are getting married outside on the lakeshore, then place pink flowers of the lake combined with brown ribbons of chiffon.
If you are getting married in a church, then pink ribbons on the brown wooden edges of the pews will be great.
The brown in the bouquets and the bridesmaid dresses will help to add enough of the brown colour to your wedding ceremony decorations.
Believe it or not, there are some flowers that do come in a brownish colour, and still look nice and alive.
There is a shade of calla lily you can get that does have a brownish tint to it, as well as a Hydrangea.
As far as centrepieces are concerned you can also decide to have small pink and brown bouquets at each table.
Another pretty idea is to set large brownish coloured candles and place them on a large mirror or other base. Then, to add a splash of pink, either tie a pink ribbon around the candle, or sprinkle pink rose petals around the candle and table as well.
Your table linens are another easy way to add a touch of colour to your wedding reception.
Choosing a light brown table cloth with a light pink runner is a beautiful choice, and will really set the romantic glow at your table.
Or you can also set your napkins in brown and tablecloths in pink and vice versa..
And of course, the cake! It could be a delicious Piemontese chocolate cake with pink icing, accented with brown fondant leaves or flowers. It could be also strawberry - pink- with some toppers of chocolate. Use your imagination when doing your decorating, and you will enjoy it!
